Celebrate Spring in Bot River!

Bot River is going to be buzzing this weekend as it always does during the annual spring celebrations.

Local winemakers pull out all the stops to ensure a memorable weekend for everyone. Below is the line-up (complete with map!) to give you an idea of what we have in store for you. One thing is for sure – it’s a weekend you’ll never forget!

Even if you can’t spend the whole weekend on the Bot Riviera you’ll still be in for a treat if you do a day trip. It’s only a 75 minute drive from Cape Town so there are NO excuses!!!

Working in various styles, she has a passion for figures and portraits, but also enjoys capturing landscapes. Jo works in metal sculpture as well, doing brazing and welding.
Olive Pip Spitting:
Pip spitting contest.
Entry: junior (2-14years) and senior (15 and up
Junior prize: Surprise/Senior prize: Barton product Hamper

Wine blending Competition:
Each visitor can blend his/her own wine and the winemaker would taste to decide who would be the winner.
The winner will receive a free weekend at one of our Luxurious Villas.
Entry fee: R20
Vineyard Tractor Tour:
Tractor leaves every hour for tours around the vineyard. Suitable for adults and children.
KIDS: Jumping castle for the kids, while adults enjoy the art, cheese and wine.
Food: Food would be available the entire day.
Cheese: Cheese platters, to be enjoyed with a glass of Barton wine in our beautiful setting.
‘Skaapspit’ in pita bread: Karoo lamb in pita bread, with sauce and salad.

Sweeping views of fynbos make this a great pit stop.
KolKol Burgers with homemade ground beef patty, tomato relish and cheddar cheese served with chips.
Honey and Mustard Chicken Wrap with cream cheese, avocado and salad.
To drink: Rose based KolKol cocktails.Cash bar will also be open.
For the kiddies: Pink “Spookasem” for sale!
What to do: Croquet and Boulle on our lawn. Bring your picnic blanket and come relax “Spring Style”.

Come enjoy and sample our new vintage releases along with our delectable food items, stir fries, Chicken Satay, home -made Turkish Delight, strawberries and much more while be entertained by R&R – Richard Black and Rupert Mellor (11:00 – 17:00)
Kids will be kept busy with Face painting, games, bike course and trekker rides!

OPEN Saturday/Sunday:
Special “picnic” deli menu where guests can choose different breads and spreads/tapenades, cheese and cured meats.
We will be serving these “platters” all day (from 9 to 5)
You will be able to taste unreleased barrel samples in the tasting room with our winemaker, Kobie Viljoen.
Sunday 11 September: from 13:00 onwards we will have “MANOUCHE” – live gypsy jazz

Get a team together to compete in fly-fishing, mountain biking, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding or simply join us for the event.
Each four-man team must have one:
• fly-fisherman
• mountain biker
• clay pigeon shottist
• horse rider
FEE: R600 per team (Free entry for spectators)

Great Individual and Team Prizes to be Won!

A boutique winery offering life’s little pleasures: They will be serving home-made quiches served with a free glass of Boutros Wine, enjoy an idyllic scenery and good wine.

The only Pinot Noir producer in Bot River, this is a great stop to take in the rambling gardens , sample Elreda’s cooking and a must stop for the sweet tooth!

We kick off the festival with a Genevieve MCC brunch, 10:30 – 12:00 , laze around with a glass of bubbles accompanied by the finest food prepared for bubbly.
Barrel tastings, new vintage tastings and more to be enjoyed while Aphrodisiac Shack Smokehouse will be serving signature dishes of smoked trout and duck for your picnic fusion and delish oysters!
Kids welcome, jumping castle and lucky packets for all!

Luddite launch its 2007 Shiraz and will selling their homegrown fresh pork and charcuterie. Art with Josh from the Roussouw Galleries and John the Potter will be orchestrating the building of a Totem Pole.

The Winemakers Selection

Our line up this year kicks off with the Winemakers Selection on the 9th September 2011 to be held at Kol Kol Mountain Lodge, Bot River, tranquil with sweeping views of fynbos.

Winemakers will be showcasing their wines revealing unique perspective on vine-to-glass progression and the personality of Bot River terroir complemented by culinary delights.

The Botriviera Spectacle

Partygoers can shunt their cabooses over to the Bot River Station on Saturday 10th September for the Botriviera Spectacle. The theme is ‘Carnival’, an excuse for guests to puff up their feathers and pimp their style for an evening of other-worldly and downright surreal entertainment. The party will be fuelled by DJ Charl who returns this year to rock the rails and steam up the venue. The loco-motion starts at 7 pm and the party will go on till late.

Tickets cost R100 and includes entry to the lucky draw and amazing giveaways.
