Bot River is going to be buzzing this weekend as it always does during the annual spring celebrations.

Local winemakers pull out all the stops to ensure a memorable weekend for everyone. Below is the line-up (complete with map!) to give you an idea of what we have in store for you. One thing is for sure – it’s a weekend you’ll never forget!

Even if you can’t spend the whole weekend on the Bot Riviera you’ll still be in for a treat if you do a day trip. It’s only a 75 minute drive from Cape Town so there are NO excuses!!!

Café Rouge: Swing into Beaumont’s precocious Café Rouge & Wine Bar – you’ll soon see why this is the centre of the universe!

All Barton produce would be sold at 15% discount on that weekend only.

This weekend will be the release of our Geranium essential oil!

Working in various styles, she has a passion for figures and portraits, but also enjoys capturing landscapes. Jo works in metal sculpture as well, doing brazing and welding.

Olive Pip Spitting:

Pip spitting contest.

Entry: junior (2-14years) and senior (15 and up

Junior prize: Surprise/Senior prize: Barton product Hamper

Entry Fee: R10

Wine blending Competition:

Each visitor can blend his/her own wine and the winemaker would taste to decide who would be the winner.

The winner will receive a free weekend at one of our Luxurious Villas.

Entry fee: R20

Vineyard Tractor Tour:

Tractor leaves every hour for tours around the vineyard. Suitable for adults and children.

KIDS: Jumping castle for the kids, while adults enjoy the art, cheese and wine.

Food: Food would be available the entire day.

Cheese: Cheese platters, to be enjoyed with a glass of Barton wine in our beautiful setting.

‘Skaapspit’ in pita bread: Karoo lamb in pita bread, with sauce and salad.

KOL KOL MOUNTAIN LODGE

Sweeping views of fynbos make this a great pit stop.

THE MENU:

KolKol Burgers with homemade ground beef patty, tomato relish and cheddar cheese served with chips.

Honey and Mustard Chicken Wrap with cream cheese, avocado and salad.

To drink: Rose based KolKol cocktails.Cash bar will also be open.

For the kiddies: Pink “Spookasem” for sale!

What to do: Croquet and Boulle on our lawn. Bring your picnic blanket and come relax “Spring Style”.

WILDEKRANS

Come enjoy and sample our new vintage releases along with our delectable food items, stir fries, Chicken Satay, home -made Turkish Delight, strawberries and much more while be entertained by R&R – Richard Black and Rupert Mellor (11:00 – 17:00)

Kids will be kept busy with Face painting, games, bike course and trekker rides!

GABRIELSKLOOF

OPEN Saturday/Sunday:

Special “picnic” deli menu where guests can choose different breads and spreads/tapenades, cheese and cured meats.

We will be serving these “platters” all day (from 9 to 5)

You will be able to taste unreleased barrel samples in the tasting room with our winemaker, Kobie Viljoen.

Sunday 11 September: from 13:00 onwards we will have “MANOUCHE” – live gypsy jazz

MAREMANNA

Get a team together to compete in fly-fishing, mountain biking, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding or simply join us for the event.

Each four-man team must have one:

• fly-fisherman

• mountain biker

• clay pigeon shottist

• horse rider

FEE: R600 per team (Free entry for spectators)

DATE & TIME: Sat. 10 Sept. 10:00 – 18:00 & Sun. 11 Sept. 09:00 – 14:00

Food and drinks will be available all day and we’ll also be screening the World Cup Rugby.
