The farm and soils we cultivate.
On Klein Botrivier, home of Genevieve MCC we have a unique blend of critically endangered Rũens silcrete Renosterveld and endangered Elim ferricrete fynbos. Due to this unique blend of soil types our farm is home to several endangered plant species many of which are only found in this area and no where else.
Previous utilized as cattle grazing ground, Melissa values the rich heritage of the terroir and along her own vineyards dedicated 11.9815 hectares to nature conservation.
On the land we safe guard soils, home to critically endangered Erica rhodopsis, know from this reserve and only one other, Serruria flagellifolia only found from Onrus in Hermanus to the Palmiet river in Kleimond, Cliffortia ferricola (Familiy of Climbers friend) only identified in three locations all within 3 kilometers of the farm as well as endangered Phylica diosmoides and critically endangered Leucadendron elimense ssp. Salteri.
By nurturing the soil, we cultivate grapes that reflect the unique terroir of our vineyard.
We pop a cork and celebrate the reflection of our rich terrior in every sip.
