Harvest 2026

Melissa and the team and moving the harvested grapes out of the vineyards

Patience has a quiet way of revealing itself in life.

I often think it allows the mind to settle, to wander, and to create.

There is patience in tending the vineyards throughout the year. As the seasons unfold, ideas surface naturally—what the next vintage should strive to become, where the current homes of the brand are finding their place, and who will be the next person to discover the magic of Genevieve Cap Classique.

Then, almost without warning, that patience gives way to momentum. Harvest begins. The waiting softens, and suddenly we are in full swing—hands busy, senses alert, hearts full.

This year has been dry, with hotter days than the norm, yet the vineyards are standing strong. We’re seeing slightly larger yields, smaller berries, and thicker skins—promising signs that hint at concentration and character. A whole new world awaits these perfect little grapes as they make their journey into the cellar.

We are deeply thankful for our cooler-climate personality: the refreshing night temperatures and that ever-present sea breeze—which may test one’s patience at times, but faithfully tempers the heat of the day and protects the fruit.

An earlier first pick has helped settle the nerves, as we remain calmly patient for the larger harvests still to come.
